Standards for boxing and combat sport contests

Active Tasmania regulates the safety of professional and amateur boxing and combat sport contests using best practice standards, developed in consultation with the industry and Tasmania Police.

The Standards for Boxing and Combat Sport Contests (Standards) require all boxing and combat sport contests in Tasmania to be conducted in accordance with the Standards and Section 49B (1) of the Police Offences Act 1935.

All new promoters seeking recognition of a governing or sanctioning body for a Boxing or Combat Sport contest should contact Active Tasmania on 1800 252 476 or at info@active.tas.gov.au

Details of proposed contests must be submitted to Active Tasmania six weeks prior to any contest and should outline the implementation of safety measures to meet standards.
